ACE Program

ACE is a capstone program built for teens to help them game-plan what’s next. It integrates the skills and inner strengths they’ve developed at First Tee and points them toward exploring, investing in, and building a clear plan and assets for their next step. ACE takes a multi-layered approach incorporating self-exploration, active investigation of potential education and career paths, demonstration of leadership and investment in their community, and development of goals and real-world assets to kick-start their future. In the game of golf, an ACE is one of the most exciting achievements. At First Tee, ACE is the capstone experience, which allows committed and engaged participants to demonstrate their understanding of First Tee’s life and golf skills as they apply their acquired knowledge and First Tee’s key commitments to four projects.

To be considered as qualified for Ace, it is required that participants:

  • 14 years old or entering high school;
  • Minimum of 3 years in the First Tee program (do not need to be consecutive)
  • Minimum attendance at 2 sessions per year; and
  • Are assessed as “ready for the program” by the FTGH Chapter

ACE classes are held at F.M. Law Park and Memorial Park:

Operation 36 Golf Academy

Operation 36 is a fun and structured developmental program designed to teach golfers of all skill levels how to play the game with purpose—starting at the hole and working their way back. The goal is simple: shoot 36 or better for 9 holes, starting from 25 yards away. As players improve and meet the scoring goal, they move back to longer yardages, progressing through a series of levels that build skill and confidence.

Each participant follows a proven curriculum that combines on-course play, weekly coaching, and measurable goals—all while making the game fun and engaging. Parents will also receive access to the Operation 36 mobile app, where they can track their child’s progress, view curriculum milestones, and stay connected to their golf journey. Whether your child is brand new to the game or looking to sharpen their skills, Operation 36 provides a motivating and supportive path to long-term development. At First Tee – Greater Houston, we use the Op36 curriculum to give golfers a roadmap to compete on the golf course. Click here to learn more.

PGA Jr. League Team Golf

Sponsored by the PGA of America, PGA Jr. League brings friends, families, and communities together through the game of golf by offering team-based, competition golf for kids of all ages and skill levels. Participants register to play in the 13U or 17U leagues where they will be assigned to a team. Participants on each team play a predetermined number of holes in a scramble format in a group of 2-5 participants on the same team. Each week, teams are matched against each other to determine the number of points earned by each team at the end of a match. Points are accumulated among teams after each match to determine a champion team at the end of the season. Click here to learn more.
