Join us for our 8th Annual Core Values Luncheon on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at River Oaks Country Club to honor Steve Timms.

For a quarter of a century, Mr. Timms led the HGA and First Tee – Greater Houston, always embodying First Tee’s 9 Core Values of: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment. The First Tee Game Changer tagline is fitting for Mr. Timms, who spearheaded some of the most transformative phases in HGA’s history and grew our First Tee chapter into one of the highest achieving and impactful programs within the national network.

Over the past two decades of leading FTGH, Timms oversaw the growth of the largest national school program that remains active in over 550 area elementary schools. The hundreds of thousands of students and families that continue to benefit annually from First Tee – Greater Houston, deeply appreciate your financial investment in them. This Core Values Luncheon event accounts for our largest source of general operating revenue, which is even more critical as we prioritize fundraising efforts to complete our capital campaign at F. M. Law Park.

As always, our luncheon will feature an outstanding alumni youth speaker to showcase the longer-term impact of the mission. We look forward to another successful event that allows plenty of time to connect with friends and like-minded philanthropic community members!

2025 Recap and Photo Gallery

In a record setting year for both attendance and funds raised, 315 guests gathered at River Oaks Country Club to raise more than $250,000 for First Tee – Greater Houston youth. Special thanks to co-chairs Megan & Michael Kaufman and Stephanie & Chris Walker, as well as our alumni speaker Dr. Owais Durrani.

Congratulations to our Game Changing 2025 Core Values Honorees Ken Fisher and Henry Noey, who have both dedicated many years to Houston Golf Association and First Tee – Greater Houston. We enjoyed giving them this well-deserved recognition and are grateful for their philanthropy and leadership.
