Thank you for joining us for our 8th Annual Core Values Luncheon on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at River Oaks Country Club to honor Steve Timms.

For a quarter of a century, Mr. Timms led the HGA and First Tee – Greater Houston, always embodying First Tee’s 9 Core Values of: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, and Judgment. The First Tee Game Changer tagline is fitting for Mr. Timms, who spearheaded some of the most transformative phases in HGA’s history and grew our First Tee chapter into one of the highest-achieving and impactful programs within the national network.

We joined together to celebrate Timms’ 25 years of leading FTGH, during which he oversaw the largest national school program out of 500+ chapters nationally. The hundreds of thousands of students and families that continue to benefit annually from First Tee – Greater Houston deeply appreciate your financial investment in them. This Core Values Luncheon is our largest source of general operating revenue, and it is even more critical as we prioritize fundraising to complete our capital campaign at F. M. Law Park.

As always, our luncheon was kept to one hour while still allowing plenty of time to connect with friends and like‑minded members of the philanthropic community. We looked forward to another successful event featuring outstanding youth-speaker alum Marlon Chapman, who showcased the long-term impact of our mission.

2026 Recap and Photo Gallery

More than 275 friends of First Tee gathered at River Oaks Country Club to raise more than $244,000 for First Tee – Greater Houston youth. Special thanks to our Honorary Event Chairs, Susan & Tom Forestier, and our alumni speaker, Marlon Chapman.

Congratulations to our Game Changing 2026 Core Values Honoree Steve Timms, who dedicated 25 years to the Houston Golf Association and First Tee – Greater Houston. We enjoyed giving him this well-deserved recognition and are grateful for his leadership.
