In addition to our regular programming for kids, we also have special events throughout the year in which we invite the community to come out and support First Tee and our fundraising efforts. Events are the main way that the Houston Golf Association and First Tee – Greater Houston raises the funds to allow our programs to impact the lives of our participants throughout the Houston metroplex!
F.M. Law Park Shootout
On Monday, September 29, 2025, supporters gathered for a day of golf, food, and beverages, and heard about HGA’s capital campaign to make necessary improvements to F. M. Law Park. All proceeds from the event went toward supporting the youth of First Tee – Greater Houston as part of our F. M. Law Park Capital Campaign.

Core Values Luncheon
First Tee Greater Houston is proud to host the 9th Annual Core Values Luncheon at River Oaks Country Club, our premier fundraising event supporting youth development programs across Greater Houston. This year, we are honored to recognize Chevron for its transformational partnership, including a $1 million investment in the Chevron Center for Education and Golf at F.M. Law Park, ongoing support of our LPGA*USGA Girls Golf initiative, and dedicated leadership through Gaynor Shirreffs, this year’s event chair. Champions Challenge Sponsored by Chevron
Champions Challenge is a fun competition using golf activity stations, as taught in the First Tee School Program in over 550 elementary and middle schools in the Greater Houston area. Schools involved in First Tee School Program are invited to select three (3), 4th grade students to compete and represent their school!
