In addition to our regular programming for kids, we also have special events throughout the year in which we invite the community to come out and support First Tee and our fundraising efforts. Events are the main way that the Houston Golf Association and First Tee – Greater Houston raises the funds to allow our programs to impact the lives of our participants throughout the Houston metroplex!
Champions Challenge Sponsored by Chevron
Champions Challenge is a fun competition using golf activity stations, as taught in the First Tee School Program in over 550 elementary and middle schools in the Greater Houston area. Schools involved in First Tee School Program are invited to select three (3), 4th grade students to compete and represent their school!
Dr. Norman Berkman Father's Day Charity Golf Tournament
Join us at Gus Wortham Golf Course on June 17, 2026 to celebrate Game Changers, fathers, and the game that brings us together. Dr. Norman Berkman has been a proud supporter of First Tee – Greater Houston for many years and we can’t wait for our favorite summer tournament!
Core Values Luncheon
Thank you to those who joined us on Thursday, February 5, 2026, for our Annual Core Values Luncheon as we honored Mr. Timms’ 25 years of leadership with HGA and First Tee – Greater Houston. This special event celebrated his legacy of living out First Tee’s 9 Core Values and the transformative impact he has made on youth and families across our community. We enjoyed hearing from an inspiring alumni youth speaker and connected with fellow supporters. All proceeds support the General Operations of The First Tee – Greater Houston.
F.M. Law Park Shootout
On Monday, September 29, 2025, supporters gathered for a day of golf, food, and beverages, and heard about HGA’s capital campaign to make necessary improvements to F. M. Law Park. All proceeds from the event went toward supporting the youth of First Tee – Greater Houston as part of our F. M. Law Park Capital Campaign.
