Volunteer

Without caring mentors, positive youth development just doesn’t happen. At First Tee – Greater Houston, we take coaching seriously. We believe that a meaningful, quality relationship between coach and participant is vital to our program. Our success is dependent upon a community of volunteers willing to donate their time, talent and treasure. Golf knowledge or ability is not required to volunteer – simply a passion for kids.

Sign up for an upcoming Volunteer Training to learn how you can help us impact the lives of young people in Greater Houston.  Our success is dependent upon many volunteers willing to donate their time.

We have several ways in which you can get involved:

MENTOR

Mentors assist staff and lead mentors in teaching First Tee Life Skills Experience to participants, provide positive feedback, and encourage participant behavior to help ensure a safe learning environment.

LEAD MENTOR

Lead Mentors organize and lead other volunteers in the delivery of life skills, golf skills, class set up, and procedures. They ensure that programming and activities are consistent with First Tee Life Skills Experience.

THE FIRST TEE COACH

The First Tee Coaches are actively enrolled in First Tee Coach Program and attend network training over a period of 3-4 years. An individual interested in leading classes and dedicating more than 75 hours a year to instruction should consider this avenue.

PROMOTER/FUNDRAISER

Promoters/Fundraisers educate the community about the services our Chapter provides to youngsters as well as opportunities to help support Chapter endeavors through in-kind and monetary donations.

CLERICAL SUPPORT

Volunteers are needed to help during classes with answering the phone, registration, filing and data entry.

SPANISH TRANSLATOR

We are in need of a volunteer that can translate written materials from English to Spanish.

Prevention Policy
